tool paths linked to layers or names

Post by MS1577730796 »

Hello,

Rhino 8 Grasshopper comes with Content Bake, which is a great tool that helps tool paths respond to grasshopper changes to a model. Add that to the rules for tool paths in the knowledge base rules for tool paths it is a great improvement to connect RhinoCam and Grasshopper. It would be nice to have tool paths linked to the content of a layer. The tool path can respond to the content bake if there is a change in size, position, and if a control geometry is removed, but not if one is added. The only way to deal with adding geometry to a layer now, in an automated way, is to delete the tool path and bring it back in from the knowledge base. It would be great if the tool path could see if an object is added to a layer and automatically add it to the control geometry, so all you have to do is regenerate the tool path. That or have RhinoCam work in Grasshopper. I saw a small segment of that in a webinar, but cannot find any information on how to use it in Grasshopper.

Cheers,

Jason
