Edge Machining

We are using the software with a 4th axis to machine wood products (chair legs etc).
The chair leg we are doing has a flat surface that twirls around the leg. We would like to program the flat surfaces on the chair legs using the side of a cutter, not the typical end mill as we should be able to run this in one path rather than end mill multiple times.
Is there a shortcut to selecting a face and running an side cutter rather than having to extrapolate the geometry and try run a 4th axis engraving pass?
