cannot make a 170degre v cutter
When I make a 170degre vcutter the tool end up been 27inchs diameter .I never notice before because I vaw only cutting shallow cuts . When I tryto go deeper every thing get shave
My cutter is set for vmill taper angle 85 flute 1.17tool lenght 3
I also try with corner radius mill ,flat diametre and corner rad at 0. but does not work .
I use 90 and 120 degre and they work
?

I might not have express myself correctly .After ping pong and turning in circle I will try again to describe my problem and I hope it is only me.
I have a 170 v cutter . the insert is 1.2 in ,so the diameter is 2.4 .actualy a little less since it angle .
1: what is the flute? the sharp edge?

To close that chapter I post the answer from Mecsoft
Hello Normand,
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. We downloaded the file that you had posted on our forum and tool a look at the 170degree V Cutter. We verified by modeling the V-cutter in Rhino using a taper angle of 85 degree with 1.2" flute length. The diameter of the cutter turns to be 27.43. Attached is the Rhino part file and a scree shot.
Hope this helps.( No not at all Your answer is the same as my question )
Those are answers from mecsoft after DBpost the drawing
Hello Normand,
Based on the parameters you specify for the flute length and taper angle, the tool diameter is determined. If your flute length is 1.2" & tool diameter is 2.4", the taper angle (included angle) would have to be 45 degrees.
Hello Normand,
If the tool diameter is 2.4" and flute length is 1.2" (as per your earlier email), the taper angle would have be 45 degrees.
So WE have to calculate,I tough the software was suppose to do that?
And the flute should be named height instead?
.I would have prefer they answer here instead of asking me to send the file and dealing in private ,so every one can learn from it .Same go for all the questions from other user, it would be nice to see all answers .It is not like there in heavy trafic on the forum .
