Stepping in curves

Post by a_kircherus »

Hi,

I'm wondering how to control better the stepping generated in my tool paths relative to curved cuts. I have been working on engraving lettering with a small bit. Regardless of the step over that I set up for my MOps, curves never seem to be smooth. I've increased the simulation resolution to the maximum--'fine.' Any ideas what I might be doing wrong?

thanks,

Are you talking about the simulation smoothness or the toolpath smoothness? The toolpath smoothness is not controlled by the simulation settings. You will have to set the tolerance values inside the toolpath methods.

Additionally the simulation model smoothness, especially if you are using the STD configuration of the product, does leave display artifacts in corners and does not truly represent how the actual cut model will look. In our PRO configuration we include an advanced polygonal simulation model which will give you better display results.
