So now I've got my part to the point where I can cut the little "ramps" out but don't know the best way to program this.


This is what my stock looks like at the point before attempting to machine the little ramps:

I can't figure out how to get the profile paths not to cut through through the center of the material when transversing.

Ideally I would like to remove all material that is around and in between the ramps and then do a final pass with a 1/32 ball endmill to cut the angled surfaces.

What would be the best way to cut these ramps out assuming I have all sizes of micro and standard endmills?

Change the start points of the curves so the entries and exits come from the outside. They are pointing towards the inside and that is why you are cutting material that you should not be machining. You can use the Rhino CrvSeam command to change the start points.

Now, for the little remaining sections in between the blocks, I suppose I should draw triangles around those areas and use profiling.
