Locate to stock

How (or please add to program) do I locate my origin point to my stock model without calculating how much bigger than my part it is and moving the origin of into space by manually inputting coordinates. This process takes me more time than typing this message to do and I CANT type man!

Why can't you use the Pick button (That little button with the arrow cursor next to the coordinates display in the dialog)?

When you change to the tab with the locate geometry button on it. The make stock viewable button is greyed out.
