Hi,
I am trying to V-carve fonts in RhinoCAM on a surface that is slightly off the perpendicular plane, and also on a surface that has some curvature. I know that the center of the engraving bit would be off-center in the letters, but the V-carve routine doesn't seem to like what I am doing. It carves the letters at the highest point but does not follow the angle or curve but rather carves into the air above the letters as the surface retreats from the highest point. Is there a way to make this work?
Thanks,
Peter

You would have to use Engraving. This method machines open or closed, 2D or 3D regions by tracing along the contours. This can be locate under the Create tab -> 2 1/2 Axis ->Engraving.
