Funky z-levels,keyboard commands

Post by obwan425 »

Hey gang,

My z-levels have been acting strangely. They are actually machining outside of the boundary, and plunging..I was curious to know if anyone else has experienced this?

The other question I have for anybody is this: How do I get the keyboard commands to save away and work everytime I open vm? I spent some time setting things like the "b" button turns the browser window on and off.."r" brings up rotation, but when I close V.M. and reopen the settings I stored are gone? Help with that would be great.

Thanks,
Greg

Hello Greg,
about Keyboard commands:
I found out, command B for browser works not, if you restart VM.
Because a single letter is put to the command line, I made a Ctrl B.
When open VM, it does not work. But if I click in Browser window at bottom to: Geom. or Tool or MOPs or Stock, so that there is a change,
the Keyboard commands work. Please test it

Best regards,
Robert

Greg,
thanks for your last report "awesome stuff" about changing z-levels.
Now I have just this situation on a part.
I hope to understand all of Rhino so quick as VM5.
Rhino is good reader of Iges files of Catia, as well as VM5.

But VM also reads any funny DXF files, other CAD systems did not.
Thank you, MECSOFT. I would like to see a Export of Iges and DXF files in VM5. Possible?

Best regards
Robert

Robert,

I am glad to help, thanks for the hotkey advise, now we are even ;-)~

Rhino is awesome stuff. It always reads my iges perfectly, with the right colors and stuff.I love being able to fix bad surfaces check minimum radius, build multiple stocks, extract edge curves for curve machining, surface something quickly, prepare 2d geometry,whatever...It keeps me from frequent visits to the cad room, one of the smartest decisions mecsoft and mcneel ever made. What a team!!
