Box Stock Dimensions

Post by GeorgeMay »

In VM4 when I open Box Stock, dimensions of the part automatically are filled in the appropriate boxes. In VM5 I have to fill them up manually. The problem is that I receive ACAD files to cut from architect and I do not know exact dimensions. Of course I can find them out but it cost me time. I got used to it in VM4 and it is annoying for me when I use VM5. Note: it only happens when part file is just a bunch of lines to cut out shapes. There are no surfaces there.

Hi George,

make sure you have the latest SP. This problem was fixed in SP3 I believe.

Suggestion for Mecsoft:
Perhaps it would be nice if user can click points for XYZ coordinates in 3D graphic with mouse for lower left and upper right point (endpoints engaged) instead of filling out coordinates and length, wide and height in box stock additional to normal fill out?

Best regards
Robert

Thanks guys, I had SP3. SP5 I just downloaded fixed it. What a relief!

No clicking in the 3D space necessary - works beautiful as it is!

Thanks again MecSoft!
