hole drilling

Post by markz »

Hello,

Using rhinocam 2014, 3 axis.

I need to countersink a series of very small holes of varying diameters. I want to do this by drilling (with a chamfer mill) to the depth of a series calculated point.

IS there are way to drill to a series of varying depth points? I have the points depth calculated so that with a 90 deg mill, drilling to the depth will give the needed chamfer/countersink.

But, can seem to find the correct way tot do this in rhinocam.

Any help is appreciated.

Hello Mark,
The drilling depth is measured from the selected point. So if you know the point location on the surface, just calculate the depth and enter it into the Drill Depth field of the Cutting Parameters tab. Then DO NOT check the box to Add Tool tip to Drill Depth. Alternately, you could use the points you already have defined at the base of the tooltip and then enter a Drill Depth of zero. However, in this case just make sure your Approach Distance is set large enough to accommodate your approach and your depth.
Good luck.
