Gouge not seen in compare?

Post by 1384986994 »

Hi,

Sorry for filling up this forum so much lately.

I am getting a gouge in my part that I don't see in the compare or simulation and I am not sure why. My part has 4 identical raised areas that are rotated 90° apart. The cutter gouged the first one but did not break. It did the same thing on the second one and that broke the cutter. Can someone take a look at this and tell me why It's not shown in the compare? Possibly a post issue?

I Think I found the issue.....

The program is using skim as a cut transfer method. I also have the cut transfer speed set to rapid. The program simulation shows a straight line on the cut transfer, but the machine (Fadal 88hs) does not move in a straight line when using G0 rapid. I am not sure if all machines are like this, but every CNC I have run does not travel a straight line when in rapid. They move on a 45° angle until one of the Axis reaches its destination.

The quick fix is to turn off the rapid on cut transfer and just use G1 100ipm.
