Use Between 2 Curve Finishing to program the 3D surface by selecting the 2 curves from the edge of the part as shown in the attached picture.
To create/extract the curves from the surface edge use Curve ->Curve From Objects ->Duplicate Edge.
RhinoCAM 2012 allows selection of Surface Edges as machining regions. This would save you the additional step to create these curve regions. For upgrade information please contact [email protected]

Re: milling curved handrail
Thank you, thank you, for your reply.
I do have couple questions on Beth Handrail rev1 file.
I down-loaded the file and there was still a “Curved Machining MOP” in there. I guess I’m not supposed to use that?
Also, in the “Between Two Curves MOP” you used a 3/8” ball, To get into the inside corners, I can think of a couple ways I might approach that, could you help me figure out what the best aproach would be.
Do I do the whole thing again with a straight bit?
Do I split up the shape and create different regions which would be flat, and then do a “Between Two Curves MOP” with a straight bit
Or is there a re-manufacturing procedure I could use?

Questions such as these are best addressed in an on-line training session. Please call our support department to sign up for a session. One of our support engineers will be able to sign you on to one of our PCs and hopefully show you how to machine this.
