toolpath is too long and complicated/UNITE

Post by MS1576189583 »

Hello everyone. I am new to forum and new too also Visual CAD/CAM.
Does anyone can help me about two points?
I am using Visual CAD/CAM visual Mill 2019 edition.

1.
After I generate, I think the generated toolpath is too long and complicated. It goes to one corner and comes back again pointless (without any logic).
I mean there is too much idle movement of tool without drilling.
How can I optimize toolpath movements?

2.
How can I unite (mesh menu) different solids?
Does unite command work only for 2 different solids?
I want to unite like 80 different solids. But the command does not allow this. Is there a way to unite more than 2 solids?

Thanks in advance for your invaluable support.

Hi there,

1. Please provide us with additional information on the type of machining operation are you programming. If you could upload or email the file to [email protected] we can take a look at this.
2. Unite under Mesh Modeling tab in VisualCAD unites 2 closed mesh solid bodies at a time. You would have to repeat this process to unite additional mesh solid bodies two at a time.
We have an add-on module VisualCAM - MESH that offers advanced MESH tools which can also be used to perform Boolean operations of multiple mesh solid bodies at once. More information on this can be found at https://mecsoft.com/visualmesh/
