I'm having a heck of a time with regions. I can't split them, I can't join them, I can't manually chain edges and half the time when I try to chain them automatically the computer picks the faces rather than the edges.
Has anybody else had these problems and figured them out?

What I do is a litle ackward but it works. I use Rhino to create all my regions. Open them in separate sesion of VM then using Export Regions save them to .mrg file. Next in your original VM session import regions.

Trying to edit them directly in VM never worked for me.

What's Rhino? Is it a CAD program?

3D Software. Check www.rhino3d.com. There is a plug-in for Rhino on the Mec website which allows you to transfer work directly from Rhino to Visuall Mill.

Using import curves on the file menu you can directly load 3DM,DWG,DXF and IGS files, there's no need to go through the .mrg file.

One small problem with imported curves, all curve are put on the default layer and all layer info in the imported file is ignored.

Thanks Mark,
That is a nice feature. Can't test it now - I had to uninstall VM5 because it was interfering with VM4 and I have job to finish.
