Retract on stepover

Post by mbr72cnc »

Is there away to get away from having VM 6 retract on every stepover when doing 3d milling? I am cutting a applique that is dished, my stepover is 6% of tool diameter (1/8 ballnose) VM6.0 will retract to clearance plane on every step over seems to add time to the machining. Can I get away from this please help!

Thanks for your help I will try the zero plane on entry/exit. Also attached is the file I was doing.

Thanks Again,
Mike

Update: just went back to the file and changed the zero plane to skim. this did the trick. Gotta love VisualMill and this forum for all the members that help each other out.

A BIG THANKS!
