Feature Machining

Post by mbr72cnc »

Is it possible with VM 6.0 to machine a 3D model imported onto a curved surface. Not a 4th axis ops, for example, machine onto a curved lid. I do woodworking would like to import a stl file onto a trunk lid to be machined in 3 dimension. Thanks,
mike

If you can bring in the model you can do it in VisualMILL. The challenge seems to be in the creation of the model not in the machining.

What I would like is to "add" a model to my project by placing onto a surface that is curved or rounded. (like a chest lid). Is it possible for VisualMILL to feature machine something like this?

Thanks,
Mike

I don't think you can add a model to your model in VM.
I believe you will have to do that in your Cad program and bring in the single finished model.
