We have 3 methods working internally and hope to have a beta pretty soon.

The methods currently working are:
1) 5 Axis Engraving
2) 5 Axis Curve Projection
3) 5 Axis Surface Normal Machining

We are currently working on Swarf machining. We are hoping to have a Beta in a few weeks. We will keep you posted.

What is happening with the 5 axis continuous module.

Is it still in the pipeline?

Will the features be available in RhinoCam.

Is it going to be released before or with the next version of Visualmill.

Hi Mark,

Yes it is very much in the pipeline. We have pushed it back due to other product releases. We will be announcing a major new product release in the next couple of weeks. The 5 Axis module will be then be released then simultaneously in all the platforms that we support (VisualMILL, RhinoCAM etc). The synchronization of the release is what is holding it up. I will post a few shots here so you can see some of what we are doing.

Thanks mecsoft. I really appreciate it. I only found the image now, as you have to log on to see it.

I use Visualmill, but these features will get very interesting in RhinoCam.

If Visualmill converts surfaces to meshes , where will it get the some of the surface information to create the continuous motion toolpaths?

Hi Mark,
in the 5 axis release VisualMILL will be using surfaces directly for machining. This is only in the 5 axis methods. This is one of the reasons why it has been taking a bit longer than anticipated to introduce the 5 axis methods. But with the new technology we will also be introducing some surface based 3 axis machining methods (such as uv line machining, undercut machining - non projection type of machining methods). We will be releasing the module in Rhino also at the same time. Hope this helps.

Yes, it will be under the 3 axis methods. I am not sure about the modules and pricing etc. You will have to contact sales about it.

Yes, 5Axis is slated to be the next product to be released. We are hoping to release it simultaneously on VisualCAM, Rhino and SolidWorks.
