MonsterGy6 Customs of Alpharetta GA, designs and manufactures custom components and retro-kits for the popular Honda Ruckus® and MadDog® line of scooters. This prototype fame cap design is machined to look like the barrel of a revolver with spent 9mm shell casings press-fit into the end of the cap. VisualCAM® 2016 is shown below simulating the six 2½ Axis Hole Pocketing operations required. Hole Pocketing can be used to cut larger holes as a milling operation instead of drilling. The hole Radius and Depth can be specified, along with the number of Cut Levels. The engage motions can be specified as a Helix using Height and Angle (i.e., pitch) values. The posted g-code output can specified as a true helix for CNC machines capable of helix cycles or as linear segments for those that do not.
“The 2½ Axis Hole Pocketing operation in VisualCAM® 2016 is great!  The helix entry produces a very clean symmetrical circular pocket that is difficult to achieve with drilling or direct plunging approaches with an end mill” says Steve Gold owner/proprietor of MonsterGy6 Customs.
