Alibre CAM News

Alibre-CAM-news-(1)I wanted to take this opportunity to share some exciting news relating to our Alibre CAM product.  To give some background information, since 2008, Alibre Inc., which was an independent company at that time, has been solely responsible for the sales and support of Alibre CAM.  Subsequent to the acquisition of Alibre Inc. by 3D Systems in 2011, we felt that it was a good time to acquiesce to our Alibre CAM customers who have urged us for a few years now to directly support the product.  So I felt that it was a good time to approach 3D Systems about this transition.  After some discussions, Max Freeman, the General Manager at Alibre was also convinced that this was the best course of action for our mutual customers.  In fact in his letter to Alibre CAM customers, Max states: “We feel that our CAM customers will get the highest level of satisfaction by interfacing with our people who eat G-Code for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! Whether it’s a sales question or a business-critical troubleshooting issue, we’ve learned that our CAD customers want to speak with CAD experts and our CAM customers want to speak with CAM experts.”  I whole heartedly agree and so as a result, effective October 15, 2012, 3D Systems has transitioned all sales and support of Alibre CAM products to MecSoft.

In another bit of exciting news for our Alibre CAM customers, we will be announcing the availability of Alibre CAM 3 this week.  This release is chockfull of great enhancements, productivity improvements and other refinements to the product that together with the improvements in Alibre Design 2012, will make it easier and more efficient for you to get your job done. In addition to the improvements in the product, we have also put together a support infrastructure beginning with a brand new web-site that will make life as an Alibre CAM customer much more productive and satisfying.  We are quite excited about these changes and hope that you share in our enthusiasm.

As a company, all of us here at MecSoft take great pride in listening to our customers.  As a result, you as an Alibre CAM customer can rest assured that we are committed to the continued development and support of Alibre CAM and your investment in the product is protected.  We also will strive to make this change as painless as possible for you and I am confident that you will find these changes overwhelmingly positive indeed.
